  • 1922: Cold Spray bitumen emulsion patent filed in London.
  • 1924: Cold Spray bitumen emulsion renamed Cold Asphalt.
  • 1929: Colas created to exploit the Cold Asphalt patent which revolutionized road technology and gave the company its name (COLd ASphalt).

King Contracting, Miller Concrete, Miller Maintenance, Jennison Construction, Lavis Contracting, MSO Construction, Miller Paving, The Murray Group, Miller Cement, Smith's Construction, Tri City Materials, Tri-City Ready Mix, Talon SEBEQ, Perth Ready Mix, Frank Kling and Various Maintenance companies, join Colas Canada.  McAsphalt, one of Canada's largest asphalt and services providers, joins Colas. This represents Colas Canada's and the Colas Group's largest acquisition to date, doubling the size of Colas in Canada.
